Lufthansa
The cello may travel in the cabin on its own seat. An Extra Seat (EXST) at the regular fare of the booked travel class is required. Booking is only possible through the Lufthansa Service Center.
U2
easyJet
easyJet does not allow cellos in the cabin and does not offer an Extra Seat option for instruments. A cello must be transported as checked special baggage, though acceptance is not guaranteed and depends on availability.
FR
Ryanair
Ryanair does not allow cellos in the cabin; the instrument must be transported as checked baggage in a hard-shell flight case.
LX
SWISS
SWISS allows cellos in the cabin on an extra seat (EXST), which must be booked by phone through the SWISS Contact Center.
OS
Austrian Airlines
Austrian Airlines allows cellos in the cabin on an extra seat (EXST), which must be booked by phone through the Service Team.
EW
Eurowings
The cello may travel in the cabin on its own seat at Eurowings. An Extra Seat (EXST) at the regular fare is required. Booking is only possible through the Eurowings Service Center — online booking is not available.
KL
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
The cello may travel in the cabin on its own seat at KLM. A CBBG seat (Cabin Baggage) is booked — a special ticket type for instruments on their own seat. Booking is only possible by phone through the KLM Service Center or a travel agent.
AF
Air France
The cello may travel in the cabin on its own seat at Air France. An Extra Seat (EXST) is required. Booking is done through the Air France Service Center or a travel agency. On long-haul flights, Air France often offers up to 50% discount on the instrument seat.
BA
British Airways
Cellos can travel in the cabin on an extra seat with British Airways — bookable online via Manage My Booking or by phone.
IB
Iberia
Cellos can travel in the cabin on an extra seat with Iberia — booking must be made through Iberia Customer Service.
TP
TAP Air Portugal
The cello travels on its own seat (EXST) on TAP Air Portugal flights, booked in advance through the TAP Contact Center.
SK
SAS Scandinavian Airlines
SAS allows cellos in the cabin on a dedicated extra seat, booked through SAS Customer Service or at the airport counter.
DY
Norwegian Air Shuttle
Norwegian transports cellos exclusively as checked special baggage — cabin carriage is not formally offered and must be negotiated individually at check-in.
