Why this isn't trivial

An example: You're flying with a cello from Berlin to London. Ryanair shows €29. Sounds great — but Ryanair doesn't allow a cello in the cabin. Your cello gets rejected at the gate.

easyJet costs €118 — but there you can book an extra seat for your cello online (as passenger “Mr Musical Instrument”), and it travels next to you in the cabin. That's the right answer. And only someone who knows all airlines' policies can find it.
