Practical Tips

Good to Know

Book at least 48 hours before departure. Ask about a possible discount on the Extra Seat — Air France offers up to 50% off the instrument seat on many long-haul routes. Request a window seat. Air France and KLM belong to the same group — on codeshare flights, the operating airline's rules apply.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring the cello as regular carry-on?
No, a cello is too large for the overhead bin. It requires its own seat (EXST).
Is there a discount on the Extra Seat?
Air France offers up to 50% discount on the Extra Seat for musical instruments on many long-haul flights. Ask the Service Center for conditions on your route.
