Step by Step

How to book your Cello on Eurowings

  1. First, book your own ticket online at eurowings.com.
  2. Call the Eurowings Service Center (+49 221 599 882 30) and request an Extra Seat (EXST) for a cello — at least 48 hours before departure.
  3. Provide your booking reference and specify the desired flights as well as the cello case dimensions.
  4. The Service Center will book the second seat and link it to your ticket.
  5. At the airport, check in at the counter (not at the self-service kiosk) so the cello is properly registered.
  6. On board, the cello will be secured with the seat belt. Ask the crew for a seat belt extension if needed.
  7. Keep the booking confirmation with the EXST notation readily accessible — gate staff may not always be familiar with the policy.

Practical Tips

Good to Know

Book at least 48 hours before departure. Eurowings often operates A319/A320 aircraft on short-haul routes with narrower cabins. XL seats and exit row seats cannot be used for instruments. Print the confirmation.
